Prostate Artery Embolization in Van Nuys, CA

A local starting point for reviewing enlarged-prostate symptoms, prior treatment, records, and whether PAE deserves consideration.

Editorially updated September 2, 2026. This educational page uses the cited medical sources and does not replace an individualized diagnosis or treatment recommendation.

Quick answer: Men with urinary symptoms that may be caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) can request a consultation at SoCal Interventional’s Van Nuys office. The purpose is to clarify the likely cause of the symptoms, identify missing testing, and compare prostate artery embolization (PAE) with reasonable medical and urologic options. Scheduling a consultation does not mean PAE will be recommended.

The Van Nuys office is at 15211 Vanowen Street, Suite 305, Van Nuys, CA 91405. Call (310) 929-0026 or request an appointment. Confirm the appointment location and current arrival instructions before traveling.

Van Nuys is part of the City of Los Angeles. This page describes an actual practice location; it does not represent that SoCal Interventional maintains an office in every surrounding city.

Before leaving home, ask whether the visit is for consultation, imaging review, treatment, or follow-up. Also confirm current parking, accessibility, check-in, and arrival-time instructions. Consultation instructions and procedure-day instructions may differ.

What to prepare for a Van Nuys PAE consultation

The office may request relevant records before or at the visit. Depending on the patient’s history, useful information can include:

Ask the office which records are needed and how they should be transmitted. Do not send medical information through an unapproved channel.

The clinical question that comes before PAE

Frequent urination, urgency, waking at night, weak stream, incomplete emptying, and retention can occur with BPH, but an enlarged prostate is not the only possible cause. Infection, bladder dysfunction, urethral narrowing, medication effects, neurologic conditions, and prostate cancer may require a different evaluation or treatment.

If BPH appears to be the main cause, candidacy still depends on symptoms, prostate and arterial anatomy, bladder function, kidney function, prior treatment, cancer assessment, bleeding risk, and individual goals. PAE is catheter-based and reduces selected blood flow to the prostate; improvement, when it occurs, is usually gradual. No degree of improvement or preservation of sexual function can be guaranteed.

For the detailed medical overview, read the complete PAE treatment guide, review who may be a candidate for PAE, or compare PAE with TURP.

Insurance preparation

Medicare or PPO coverage depends on the individual policy, network, medical-necessity criteria, authorization requirements, site of service, deductible, and patient responsibility. Acceptance of an insurance category is not a guarantee of payment. The office can explain what information is needed for a patient-specific benefit review.
