For referring clinicians

Refer a patient for image-guided care

SoCal Interventional welcomes physician and advanced-practice referrals for prostate artery embolization, genicular artery embolization, and uterine fibroid embolization. Our team coordinates clinical review, imaging, patient education, and next steps with the referring practice.

Referral pathways

A referral begins with confirmation of the working diagnosis and a review of prior treatment, imaging, comorbidities, and the patient’s goals. A consultation does not guarantee that an embolization procedure will be recommended.

PAE

Prostate artery embolization

For appropriately evaluated patients with lower urinary tract symptoms related to benign prostatic hyperplasia who want to discuss minimally invasive and surgical options.

GAE

Genicular artery embolization

For selected patients with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis after diagnostic confirmation and discussion of exercise, medication, injection, and surgical pathways.

UFE

Uterine fibroid embolization

For patients with imaging-confirmed fibroids and bleeding, bulk, or pressure symptoms who need coordinated counseling about UFE, myomectomy, hysterectomy, and fertility goals.

Information that helps clinical review

After your office contacts us, our team will provide the appropriate secure transfer instructions. The exact records needed vary by diagnosis and procedure.

Protect patient privacy: Do not place a patient’s name, date of birth, medical record number, imaging, or clinical records in the general website contact form or ordinary email. Use the secure pathway provided by our office.

What happens after referral

Coordination

Our office confirms the referral pathway, secure record-transfer method, location preference, and any authorization needs.

Clinical review

Dr. Sabbah reviews the available history and imaging and identifies whether additional diagnostic or specialty evaluation is needed.

Shared plan

The patient receives a consultation about candidacy, alternatives, expected recovery, limitations, and risks. The referring clinician remains part of the care pathway.
